I’m Michael D. Hickling — an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot born in New Jersey and raised in South Florida.

“For me, aerial media has never been just about flying a drone. It’s about capturing the feeling of a place.”
I know this coastline the way only a local can: where the light hits the Intracoastal at golden hour, which neighborhoods reveal their character from above, and how different communities create their own rhythm and identity.
My work spans coastal shorelines, residential neighborhoods, waterfront spaces, local landmarks, restaurants, community events, and urban environments throughout Florida’s Treasure Coast and South Florida.
My top aerial video on TikTok has reached more than 377,000 views, while the account has earned over 88,000 organic likes through cinematic aerial storytelling, thoughtful shot planning, and a genuine appreciation for the places I film.
Whether it’s a skyline at sunset, a downtown district after dark, a waterfront community, or a quiet stretch of coastline, I’m drawn to the places that help define a region’s character.
